Introduction

Rise Up Media Limited ("we," "us," "our," or "the Company"), a company registered in England and Wales, publishes and operates alexlielacher.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies only to this Site, not to any third-party website or service linked from it.

We are the data controller for the personal information described in this Policy. You can reach us at alex@riseup.media, or by post at Kemp House, 152 City Road, London EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom, with any question about this Policy or your data. Full company details are on the Legal Notice page.

Information We Collect

Information you provide directly. If you email us, submit a form, or sign up for our newsletter, we collect what you provide: typically your name, email address, company name, and anything you write in the message itself.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, this Site's hosting and security systems automatically log standard technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser type, device type, and the pages you view. This is standard server-log data used to keep the Site running securely. It is not used to build a profile of you.

Cookies. This Site does not currently use advertising or tracking cookies. Some strictly necessary cookies may be set by WordPress itself (for example, to remember a cookie-notice dismissal) and by embedded services such as Google Fonts, which loads typefaces from Google's servers and, in doing so, receives your IP address in the way any request to a website does. If that changes, we will update this Policy and, where required, ask for your consent.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your inquiries and provide the services or information you request
  • Deliver the newsletter you subscribed to, and manage that subscription
  • Operate, secure, and improve the Site
  • Comply with legal or regulatory obligations

Legal Basis for Processing

We are based in the United Kingdom, where data protection is overseen by the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Where visitors are located in the EU/EEA, the EU GDPR also applies. Where these regimes apply, we process your personal information on one of these legal bases:

  • Consent (for example, subscribing to the newsletter)
  • Legitimate interest (for example, responding to an inquiry you sent us, or keeping the Site secure)
  • Legal obligation (where we are required by law to process or retain certain information)

Who We Share Information With

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

We use a small number of service providers to run this Site and our newsletter: for example, our web host and Beehiiv for newsletter delivery. These providers only process your information on our behalf, to provide their service, and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. Some of these providers may be based outside the UK/EEA (for example, in the United States). Where that happens, we rely on appropriate transfer mechanisms recognised under UK and EU data protection law.

We may also disclose personal information if required to do so by law, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with a legal process, protect our rights or property, or protect the safety of Site visitors or the public.

Data Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected: for example, newsletter contact details for as long as you remain subscribed, or inquiry emails for a reasonable period to allow for follow-up. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see "Your Rights" below).

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the personal information you share with us from loss, misuse, or unauthorised access. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate information
  • Ask us to delete your information
  • Object to or restrict certain kinds of processing
  • Ask us to transfer your information to another provider
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent

To exercise any of these rights, email alex@riseup.media. If you are located in the UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). If you are located in the EU/EEA, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country of residence.

Children's Privacy

This Site is intended for a professional, business-to-business audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this Site, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Third-Party Links

This Site links to third-party profiles and websites, including LinkedIn, X (formerly Twitter), Prompt Horizon, and Rise Up Media. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please review their policies directly if you have concerns.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time, for example as the Site's features change. Any update will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date. If you have questions about a specific change, feel free to reach out.
